Hi. I am Olga Loutokhina. Ever since I moved to Aspen, CO from St.Petersburg, Russia 12 years ago, I have been from time to time puzzled by the contradiction of several obvious facts:

    - Aspen is different from the rest of America - there is even a customer service institute here!

    - Most people I met and befriended are heavily influenced by media stereotypes regarding what's really happening in Eastern Europe (you know how many times I heard "You do not look Russian!" ?)

    - I never warmed up to log homes or South Western/ mountain style. Quite naturally I wanted my new Aspen home to be contemporary European, but despite what you might think, I did not marry a millionaire.

    - Every trip back to Russia ( and its neighborhoods) resulted in sincere astonishment at what was available there for those adventurous enough to step off a beaten path.

So, much like Aristotle, who had to found a school in order to be able to teach, I started Baltic Home.

    RECORD SNOW IN MOSCOW
On January 28, 2005 Moscow experienced its heaviest one-day snowfall since records began being kept. A total of 30 cm ( 12 inches) fell on the capital and smashed the previous (1977) record. The snow hampered traffic in the capital, caused over 1000 traffic accidents (twice the normal rate), and forced many planes to be rerouted to other airports.

On a brighter side, this snow gave creative moskovites a unique chance. The photo below is taken outside the Central Actor's House in Moscow - pretty, is not it?
